This guide will discuss 9Now and how to use and install it. This app can be installed on almost any device, e.g. Firestick, Fire Cube, Nvidia Shield, Android box, Chromecast, phones, tablets, and PCs (via an emulator such as Bluestacks or Nox). 9Now can be installed from the most popular app stores; however, it can be sideloaded if unavailable.
The Amazon Firestick, a top contender in the streaming device market, is particularly popular for its affordability and the ease with which it can be jailbroken. With just a few straightforward adjustments, you can unlock its full potential, making it an attractive option for those looking to break free from traditional cable TV.

What is 9Now?
The Nine Network in Australia offers a video-on-demand and catch-up TV service called 9Now.
With 9Now, you can access all your favourite news, current affairs, sport, drama, comedy, lifestyle and reality TV programs from Channel 9, 9Gem, 9Go!, 9Life and 9Rush.
Nine Network said its platform had more than 7 million signups as of January 2019.
9Now is available in Australia but can be accessed outside of this area with a VPN.
9Now Features and Content
The 9Now app has a clean and straightforward-to-use interface, with the Home screen providing basic menu options accessible by tapping to the left of the screen.
Menu options allow you to navigate to Search, Home, Live TV, TV Shows, Settings and Exit.
9Now offers:
- Five live TV channels: Channel 9, 9Gem, 9Go!, 9Life and 9Rush.
- A large number of on-demand categories, including Aussie Drama, Entertainment, Horror, Natural World, Reality, Sport, and more.
9Now features some of the most popular TV shows, including iZombie, New Amsterdam, Supernatural, Homeland, Gossip Girl, and Pretty Little Liars.
Nine’s Wide World of Sports is a long-running sports anthology brand on Australian television that airs on the Nine Network and streaming service Stan.
All major sports, events and series covered by the network are broadcast under this brand, the flagship sports being rugby league (National Rugby League), rugby union (Super Rugby and Wallabies international matches) and Grand Slam tennis (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open).
A complete list of broadcasting rights that 9Now holds for sporting events can be found here.
Is 9Now Legal and Where is it Available?
Yes. 9Now is an official streaming service and, therefore, 100% legal. This service is available in Australia only. However, you can use a VPN to bypass any location blocks.
How to Watch 9Now from Outside of Australia
Unfortunately, 9Now is blocked outside of Australia, so you won’t be able to watch from popular ex-pat destinations such as the UK, USA, Portugal, Spain, Germany, and France.
Fortunately, there is a way to bypass these blocks so you don’t miss a thing!
Sign up for a VPN
A VPN can be used to bypass any location blocks. NordVPN is my recommendation because it has solid unblocking capabilities. If you presently use IP Vanish as your VPN and want to unblock streaming services, I suggest switching to my recommended VPN. Despite IP Vanish being a safe and secure VPN, it does not have good unblocking capabilities. Furthermore, you will struggle to use streaming services based outside your location.

Go to your App Store and search for 9Now. You can also stream content in your web browser by visiting the website.
But if you can’t get the app from your app store, you may be able to sideload it. To do so, your device must be capable of installing apps from unknown sources. Once your device is enabled for sideloading, you can install the app from my Downloads page.
Choosing on-demand content will result in a Network Error. Network connectivity has been lost. Waiting for network connection.
A workaround would be to use a web browser (such as Silk on a Firestick) and visit 9now.com.au to stream on-demand content on your device.

Wrapping Up
9Now is a decent streaming app to try for watching channels from the Nine Network. In addition, if you’re a sports fan, lots of live sports are broadcast, such as rugby league (National Rugby League), rugby union (Super Rugby and Wallabies international matches) and Grand Slam tennis (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open).
However, with the current issues with sideloading the 9Now app, you may prefer to install an alternative from this list of Free Streaming Apps.
