Jailbreak your Firestick
The first step to fully getting the most out of your Firestick is to “Jailbreak” it.
Technically, what you can do with your firestick isn’t called “Jailbreaking” because we aren’t installing any modified firmware & it is not illegal to do.
But this term of “jailbreaking” is very popular & searching for it is probably how you found this link!
If someone tells you they can jailbreak your firestick for a fee, I highly recommend that you don’t pay for someone else to do it when it is so easy to do yourself.
You only need to adjust a setting & download an application & that then unlocks the restrictions that are in place on your firestick.
Settings to turn on or off!
I know there are a lot of you out there that are new to using a Firestick & if you care about your privacy, its a good idea to have a look at what settings that Amazon have turned on on your Firestick to track you & your viewing.
Even if you have had your Firestick for a while & you’ve never taken a look at your Settings then you should take a look. There are settings that I recommend turning off or on, to save on your system resources & help keep your Firestick running smoothly.
Install an alternative app store
After you have “jailbroken” your Firestick, you are no doubt going to want to install some great apps that you cannot get from the Amazon app store that give you great access to free live TV, movies & shows. Installing an alternative app store is a great way to do that. Click the links for tutorials.

Add a virtual mouse
Once you have added an alternative app store & installed some apps, you may notice that some of them don’t quite function right on your Firestick.
There may be areas of the screen that you can’t get to by using your Amazon remote. This is because the apps weren’t specifically designed to be used with the Amazon operating system.
However, that does not mean that you cannot use & enjoy them! All you need is a mouse & you can add one “virtually” in the form of a Mouse Toggle.
Take a look at Real-Debrid
If you install apps that allow you to search for link for movies & TV shows, then it is highly recommended to use these apps with a Real-Debrid account.
This is a premium service that gives you premium quality links (even in 4K) & is relatively inexpensive but it makes a world of difference. Click the links to find out some more.
Adding & using storage
Depending on what Firestick you own will determine how you can add additional storage to it. Newer Firesticks not only allow you to add storage for extra files such as films & photos but you can also add extra system storage.
Before looking on how to add storage, you need to find out what software version your Firestick is running;
Now we know what software version our Firestick is running you can now look at adding storage;
With all that extra storage you may want to move some apps from your internal storage to the new external storage or copy some files from your PC or Laptop to your device;
Boost your Firestick performance
Once you have installed more apps & used your Firestick for some time, you may notice that things are running a little more slowly or you notice a few little “niggles”.
